Connect to DoorDash:

Reach More Customers, Make More Liquor Store Sales

Bottle POS now integrates with DoorDash.
Discover what it means for your store.

For decades, liquor stores have operated the same way.

Customers come in, browse the aisles, and carry their bottles to the counter. While still the case today, modern customers are busy, picking up dinner, stopping by other stores, and rushing to get home. They want your products, but not always the trip.

As a liquor store owner, how can you make their lives easier? By adapting to their shopping habits. Namely, embracing e-commerce and delivery.

"Independent liquor stores have unique challenges competing with big chains," explains Kevin Patel, Vice President of Bottle POS. "The stores that succeed will adapt to new customer habits while using their biggest strengths: product knowledge, selection, and local connection."

That's why we've launched our DoorDash integration.

With Bottle POS and DoorDash, you can put your entire inventory on the platform thousands of local customers already use daily. No technical setup, no complicated onboarding, and no extra costs — just more customers and bigger sales.

Let’s explore it more.

Why Local Delivery Matters Now

The numbers are clear. Getting alcohol delivered is becoming more popular and widespread. The delivery market has exploded to over $72 billion, creating challenges and opportunities for liquor stores.

Further, according to this DoorDash report:

41% of consumers ordered alcohol via delivery in the last year.

More than half of U.S. consumers have ordered alcohol on third-party apps, citing convenience as their main driver.

Holidays, such as July 4th and Cinco de Mayo are the top alcohol delivery days.

"What started as a convenience is now expected, and stores without delivery are missing out on a growing customer segment." — Kevin Patel

For independent liquor stores, the question isn't whether to offer delivery, but how to do it without complicating your business.

1 Integration, 3 Powerful Benefits

We built our DoorDash integration through a direct partnership,
with both companies developing features specifically for this connection.
We had one goal: making delivery easy for independent liquor stores.
Some of the top benefits include:

1. It’s easy to connect

You might worry that integration will be complicated — multiple logins, separate accounts, and hours of technical setup — but connecting to DoorDash through Bottle POS couldn’t be easier! In just a few clicks, you’ll be good to go:

1. Log into your Bottle POS dashboard
2. Navigate to General Settings
3. Click "Enable DoorDash Integration"
4. Complete a brief store information form

There's no need to spend hours in settings menus or watching tutorial videos. We've eliminated all the friction points that typically stop retailers from expanding to delivery.

"We've handled all the technical work behind the scenes," Kevin explains. "Store owners shouldn't
need to be tech experts to grow their business. Our integration lets DoorDash handle all the driver management, verification, and logistics.

2. You control what you sell

With Bottle POS + DoorDash, you decide what to sell and how to price it:

  • Set your own prices: Add a markup percentage to your delivery products with one setting.
  • Professional pricing: Round prices to end in "9" automatically for consistent pricing.
  • Choose what you offer: Exclude specific products or entire categories with one checkbox.
  • Automatic updates: Products appear or disappear based on your inventory, so you never sell what's out of stock.

All these controls live in your familiar Bottle POS dashboard — no new systems to learn.

"The control panel is the same one you use every day," Kevin emphasizes. "There's no separate DoorDash portal to navigate or new interfaces to learn. We've integrated everything into the Bottle POS admin panel you already know."

For example, to exclude a product from
appearing on DoorDash, you simply:

1

Go to Admin > Items > Items

2

Edit the specific item

3

Check "Do not show to webstore," and click save

You can even apply these settings at the category level to quickly exclude entire product groups, perfect for items with special licensing requirements or items you prefer to sell in-store only.

3. There’s no extra cost

Unlike competitors who charge extra for marketplace connections, our DoorDash integration comes with your existing Bottle POS subscription.

This pricing structure makes us unique in the market. We believe delivery should be accessible to every independent retailer, not just those with large technology budgets.

"Connecting to delivery services shouldn't cost extra," says Kevin. "We see this as a core feature, not an add-on. That's why we've included it in all subscription levels at no additional cost."

How Delivery Boosts
Liquor Store Sales

What does the DoorDash integration bring to your business?

new 1

You can reach new customers

DoorDash puts your store in front of thousands of local customers actively looking for alcohol delivery. It's like having a second storefront in a busy location — without paying extra rent.

You'll get bigger orders

Delivery orders are typically larger than in-store purchases. When customers order delivery, they stock up instead of grabbing a single bottle.

You can run targeted promotions

The DoorDash integration lets you create promotions that help move specific inventory. These targeted promotions don't just drive immediate sales — they help you manage inventory more effectively and reduce holding costs for slow-moving products.

Promotional ideas include:

  • Using auto ranking in Bottle POS to identify your slow-moving products
  • Offering special deals on these items through DoorDash
  • Appearing in the "local deals" section of the app to attract new customers

Common Challenges
You Might Face

We've talked with hundreds of liquor store owners about delivery. What if it’s too complicated? How will you handle logistics? Here's how our integration addresses the most common concerns.

I don’t want to hurt in-store sales

Solution: Think of the integration as a value-add, not a replacement! What we're seeing is that delivery doesn't replace in-store shopping, it complements it.

Yes — current customers might use delivery for convenience — but they’ll still visit for special purchases or recommendations. Also, delivery brings in new customers who may eventually shop in-store too.

I’m worried about age verification

Solution: DoorDash has strict ID checking systems that verify age at delivery. Their drivers are trained to check IDs and can’t complete deliveries without verifying a customer’s age. You can also exclude certain products from delivery if local rules require it.

This will make inventory management too complicated

Solution: We’ve made sure the integration works with your existing inventory. For example, when something sells out in Bottle POS, it automatically becomes unavailable on DoorDash. You won’t sell items you don't have.

Updates sync automatically every few hours, ensuring your DoorDash listings reflect your actual in-store availability without any additional work on your part.

It will take too long to set up

Solution: Enabling the integration takes just minutes, but the full DoorDash marketplace setup typically takes two to four weeks as DoorDash completes their verification and onboarding process.

Once approved, your products will automatically appear in the DoorDash marketplace, visible to customers in your local area.

Built for Liquor Stores

We developed this integration based on feedback and real conversations with liquor store owners just like you. It’s a natural next step.

"We spent months talking with our customers about delivery," Kevin shares. "They wanted three things: simplicity, control, and affordability. We built every part of this integration to meet these needs."

This isn’t a generic e-commerce add-on, and again, it wasn't a one-sided development effort. We partnered with DoorDash to meet the unique needs of liquor store owners:

  • Age verification compliance built in
  • Support for categories and subcategories specific to alcohol retail
  • Recognition of standard alcohol package sizes
  • Special handling for items with distribution restrictions

"Our goal is to help independent liquor stores stay competitive with larger chains," Kevin explains. "This integration levels the playing field, giving even small stores the same delivery capabilities as major retailers."

Bottle POS & DoorDash: What This Means for Your Store

The DoorDash integration is just the beginning of our commitment to helping independent liquor stores win.

Looking ahead, Kevin sees combining in-store and online as the key to success:

"The stores that succeed aren't choosing between physical and digital — they're using both together. A customer might find you on DoorDash, then visit for a wine tasting. Or an in-store shopper might switch to delivery for their regular purchases. When you connect these experiences, you build relationships that go beyond individual sales."
