She bought the store — and the old POS that came with it
After purchasing Oak Barrel Wine & Spirits, Khevana Patel didn’t just inherit a business — she inherited its systems, too. The existing POS had been in place for years. It worked, it held valuable sales history, and it had reliable support.
She wasn't looking to switch. When the calls came in from competing POS companies — and they came often — she didn't pick up. Clover, Square, all the names you'd recognize: she heard the pitches and passed. Migrating meant risking the historical sales data she was relying on to learn the business and make smart ordering decisions.
But as she grew from one store to three, it became clear: the system wasn’t built for where the business was going — and it was quietly taking over her day.
The breaking point was invoicing — the process was entirely manual. Every delivery, every distributor, every line item — had to be entered by hand. That's half of every working day, gone — not to growing the business, not to customers, but to data entry.

"I love dealing with people. Recently, because we took over the two new stores, I've been doing a lot of computer work, and I feel like I'm not loving my job as much, because I'm just behind a screen all the time. And that helped me reaffirm that I just love the people aspect of the business."
The turning point: invoicing on autopilot
That’s when Bottle POS entered the picture.
A representative reached out and mentioned something that immediately stood out: invoicing could be handled automatically through a FinTech integration. It directly solved the one problem that was taking over her day.
“I was sold immediately,” she says.
Still, she had one condition. The sales history she’d inherited — and relied on — had to come with her. It was how she understood what sold, what to reorder, and how to keep building on the foundation the previous owner had left behind.
Once she knew that data would migrate intact, the decision was simple. She made the switch to Bottle POS.

9,000 SKUs backed by real support
The first migration didn't go exactly as planned. With 9,000+ SKUs moving from the old system to Bottle POS, there were some unexpected challenges. What made the difference was the response. Her onboarding specialist worked for three days straight to manually correct everything that hadn't come through right.
Every item, fixed.
"We had a little bit of a road bump actually migrating for this store…and he fixed all of it. It was stressful. But it was worth it."
Looking ahead: three stores, one system
With three locations now running on Bottle POS, she's only beginning to use some of what the platform makes possible. One feature she's particularly looking forward to: cross-store inventory transfers. The ability to track what gets moved between locations, and when it's coming back, addresses a real operational headache as the portfolio grows.
For now, the biggest thing is simpler: she's spending less time in front of a computer and more time doing the part of the job she actually loves.
"There is a feature where you can link all the stores and transfer inventory between them. I think that would be really useful to keep track of what I sent to the other store and when I need to get it back, because it's easy to lose track of things like that."

"The store requires attention in all sorts of aspects. Sitting behind a computer isn't the best use of my time. But with Bottle, it's a lot easier…I would recommend Bottle POS to anybody who wants to make their life easier."
