Starting February 1, 2025, Bottle POS will retire the non-cash adjustment feature—commonly referred to as cash discounting—and transition to dual pricing to ensure compliance with card brand regulations.
This resource will help you understand the benefits of dual pricing and how to make the switch seamlessly.
According to Visa, this is ‘surcharging’, it has complex regulations and potential fines for non-compliance.
Allowed in all 50 states: this protects your business from fines related to not meeting the specific surcharge requirements in your area.
CONFIRM: If the Type field contains any value other than Dual Pricing or if you are not showing both cash and non-cash prices for your products, then you are not compliant and may face fines from the card brands.

First, your receipts will appear differently according to the transaction type.
A non-cash fee receipt will show the non-cash adjustment fee when credit card is used for payment while a dual pricing receipt never shows
any fee or cash-related discount.
Non-cash adjustment fee is displayed on screen
Price column is removed to show credit card total after tax.
There is no non-cash adjustment fee to highlight since the prices are different based on tender type.
For Dual Pricing, the ‘Summary’ report will display a new line called ‘Additional Card Fee’. This will show the difference between cash and regular price for all transactions made during the time period of the report.
